Here began the waiting. How did I fill my time? Well, from weeks 4 to 6 I basically felt like I had a pretty intense case of PMS. I read every article I could find detailing the risk of miscarriage. I wanted statistics broken down by day…by hour would have been even better. I was so bloated I was convinced I was already showing. Oh…and having to pee seemingly 6 times an hour, that was confusing. Then week 6 hit along with nausea. I didn’t throw up like you’d imagine, I just couldn’t eat anything. NOTHING looked appetizing. For 4 weeks I felt like I was recovering from the flu…you know the feeling–when just seeing food on TV makes your stomach upset. I started sleeping upwards of 23 hours per day, and went in search of any kind of unscented bath soap I could find in order to not wretch while bathing. It was during this time that I gave up my food-prep job at the restaurant. They were changing their shifts, my primary job was putting me back at full time hours, and I could no longer clean raw chicken at 8am with the best of them. 🙂 Thankfully they were super-understanding. Besides, it’s hard to work 12 hour days and get the required 23 hours of sleep. Of course it was also during these weeks I began to wonder if I might be pregnant.

Turns out the OB doesn’t have any interest in seeing a newly pregnant person until they are about 10 weeks pregnant.
