The very long cold spring greatly delayed our garden this year. The best growing item we have had was the volunteer sunflowers that we weren’t planning to have. The first ripe tomato of the season was ready almost the end of July. My first impression of the little Stupice Tomato is that it has a bit of a sweet flavor I wasn’t expecting. Pretty good, and the size would be about right to quarter and drop into a salad. (Roughly the size of a golf ball) Should have several more from the same plant the next few days. And if you look closely at the Amish Paste plant in the foreground of the sunflower picture, there will be a large crop later. Late tomatoes are still better than no tomatoes!
