Baby Bx–40 weeks! (and counting)

It seems that little boy Bx has a bit of Baxter/Koenig tardiness in him. Today is his due date, and we have no current signs of labor. There’s nothing saying that couldn’t change…except perhaps my intuition. My brother emails/calls/texts daily to see if there’s a baby yet. I think he will be a good uncle. Over the past week I’ve become somewhat less comfortable, mostly due to a drastic increase in itchiness and some pelvic bone pain. Now that I think about it, the pelvic bone pain has actually gotten better, while the itching has gotten worse.  On Friday, I called and talked to the nurse at my OB office about the itching, and they had me come in for a non-stress test and some blood work just as a precaution. Turns out the fluid levels in there are a bit low so we will do a repeat test if he’s not out by Tuesday when my next appointment is. Everything else looked good. He’s moving enough, growing enough, and my blood work didn’t have them concerned…so we wait. While hooked up to the monitor the technician told me that I am in fact having Braxton Hicks contractions…but apparently they just aren’t strong enough for me to feel them or to get much done in the way of progressing towards labor.

Gardening with BabyBx

Yesterday we took advantage of some amazing weather and started spring cleaning on the flower beds. Jason was super-helpful and finished up after I ran out of steam. Today I’d like to get the pond cleaned out, but that might be more of a Jason job at this point so we will see if he is interested. He just took my car to get it washed, and has been so helpful that I feel bad adding more to his ‘honey-do’ list. Thank goodness for great husbands! This morning I took my official 40-week “due date” picture. Enjoy!
