Describe the temperament of your child: Mellow. Smiley. That pretty much sums up your first year. 
Smiles so big your eyes squint shut as you grin from ear to ear. I tell people you’ve been the type of baby who could make anyone like babies. If only everyone could wake up each morning half as happy as you. Your shoulder snuggles are so sweet; just the cuddler this mommy needed. Lately you are a bit of a mamma’s boy as you chomp your binkie and nuzzle my shoulder. I call you my Chris-tos-toe-pher, Daddy calls you snuggle-potomus, and big brother simply calls you Chris (or sometimes Pumpkin). Bath time is your absolute favorite–even on a crabby day, a bath rarely fails to bring out a smile. You don’t say much of anything, but you point and grunt emphatically and shake your head “NO” with great enthusiasm. It is becoming clear that you understand way more than you’re able to say with words. Your gummy smile reveals the 4 little teeth you’ve worked so hard to grow. You have not yet taken your first steps, although you stand and grin pretty confidently, creep along furniture, and occasionally get a leg up in an attempt to climb. You are a great little brother to William, and take his rough and tumble nature in stride. Aggressive hugs are met with smiles as he crawls all over you. Your lack of demands makes up for his list of them. Peek-a-boo is your favorite game and big brother is excellent at playing along until you both laugh and laugh! Your only troubles in life thus far have been a couple colds and a bout of painful teething. We’ve spent all too much time trying to coax you into sleeping better, and you’re getting ever so much closer to sleeping ALL night. It has been fun to see you grow and change ever smiling through this, your first year. Happy Birthday to my little big man! So excited for your second year!
