When Jason and I got married, we decided our ideal timeline would be to wait 2 years before trying to have kids. Two years for us was May 2011. I was insistent we waited until after our Spring trip home in order to prevent the possibility of me being the sort-of-fat, queasy, pregnant girl for our 22 hour car drive to WI. So vacation ended and we got to the business of ‘trying’ as people say. Being a doubting Thomas I had decided some time ago that since we wanted children I was most likely infertile. I had inherited cycles that were stupid-irregular, and even having been off birth control for 6 months had cycles ranging from 25 to 72 days. For those of you totally unfamiliar with the getting pregnant process, that makes predicting when to ‘try’ next to impossible. So being the control freak that I am, I ordered a bulk box of ovulation predictor strips and a basal temperature thermometer….and the rest, as they say is history…
